What do my clients need to watch the video?
To view streaming video your visitors will need to have either Real Player or Windows Media Player. Most PCs these days have already Windows Media Player installed as standard, and we provide links for visitors who haven't got it to download it free from the internet.

Do I need to download the video clip on my PC?
No, the video will play directly to your computer without the need of lengthy downloads.

How long will it take before I can start watching the video?
It normally takes just few seconds before you can enjoy the clip.

Do I need to buy any software?
No, all the players are free from either Microsoft or Real and can be downloaded from their respective websites. Most PCs these days have already Windows Media Player installed as standard.

Do I - or my customers - need to have broadband?
Not at all. Streaming video can be enjoyed from a simple modem connection.

What about the quality of the clip?
Obviously the better your connection to the Internet, the better the quality. In the last few months new codecs have been devised that allow for very good quality even at lower connections (i.e. modems).

What kind of video formats can be used to be transformed into video streaming?
Any standard format will do: VHS, mini DV, Beta etc.
Please bear in mind that the quality of the original video is reflected in the streamed version, therefore if the original is of very good quality then the streamed video will be also.

Can I host streaming video together with my website?
No, for a video to be properly streamed it has to be hosted on designated streaming servers. At times, and if it is envisaged that the video will not be viewed simultaneously it is possible to use normal web space, but it detracts to the overall quality of the viewing experience and it cannot be called "streaming video". We provide streaming hosting as part of our services
